Vaping on an RBA is some next level ninja type of stuff. It's the promised land of vaping. Anybody can pick up a vape pen and blow some clouds. It's not all that hard. We don't vape just for the hell of it. We vape because we love it. When you love something, you want to experience all that it has to offer. That is why we use RBAs. Without building your own coils, all you can experience is what came in a package. You will never be able to experience custom vapor. There is nothing wrong with standard coils. They can be really great sometimes.
It's just that you don't have any freedom when you can build your own coils. I don't know about you, but I love my freedom. I'm a true red-blooded American so it's in my DNA to value my freedom above all things. Using RBAs is an expression of my freedom. I can build coils that you could only dream of using. Standard coils can't come close to the beauty of custom coils. It's literally impossible for a company to mass produce the kind of coils you can make yourself. The only thing stopping you is fear. People are scared that they'll mess up the coils or that it'll be too hard. I'm here to tell you, it's not! It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You'll be a coil building master before you know it.
Considerations
There are a lot of different options you have to pick from when you buy your next RBA. With all the options, you should be able to find the perfect atomizer for you. If you don't have a mod that you plan on using yet, then picking your RBA will be even easier. If you already have a mod, make sure your RBA fits nicely on your mod. Some mods are really thin and work best with 22mm tanks. When you put a bigger tank on a skinny mod, you get a really sloppy looking setup. If you love your vape gear as much as me, you'll be annoyed to the moon and back with a sloppy setup. By knowing how wide of a tank you want, it'll help you narrow down your search considerably.
Slim mods are awesome because they're highly portable. I'm going to be honest, I like slim mods but they're not my favorite for RBA vaping. If you don't care about your tank hanging over the edge then vape on. I hate having my tank hang over the edge so I tend to stay away from the ultra thin mods. The reason my tanks hang over the edge a lot is because I tend to use wider RBAs. The wider the RBA, the bigger the build deck. I like large build decks because they give you more space to build on. A 22mm base is big enough, but a 25mm base gives you a little more space to work with. For me, that extra few millimeters makes all the difference in the world. It's especially important when using big clapton coils or alien wire.
On The Fence?
Not everyone has the time to switch over to RBA vaping. Building coils can be time consuming, especially when you first start building them. There is a learning curve with coil building just like with any other activity. If you're on the fence, we have a recommendation for you.
We have the perfect solution for you if you're not sure you want to commit to building your own coils all the time but are curious about RBAs. You don't have to commit all the way just yet, but if you take our recommendation, we're sure you will. We think you should buy a hybrid tank. You'll get the best of both worlds this way. In one little tank you'll have the convenience of ready-to-vape coil heads and the versatility of an RBA.
Hybrid tanks come with at least two different vaping options. They have a base that comes with coil heads and another one that is a rebuildable base atomizer. With a hybrid tank, you'll be able to switch back and forth at your lesiure. We recommend this because it ensures that you don't waste your money. If you were to buy a regular RBA, it might just sit on the shelf and you'll never get your money's worth out of it. When you buy a hybrid tank, you'll definitely get your money's worth, even if you don't ever start building your own coils.
It's something to consider if you're on the fence. Hopefully you are not on the fence and you jump straight in. It's easier to build coils on the dedicated RBAs. The hybrid ones usually have smaller bases and sometimes they have weird posts. A nice two-post RBA will be a lot easier to make a sick build on.
